Sweet Streets: SPANK! X Chubby Bunny

I'm so grateful to have the opportunity in being in an event showcasing a lot of the things I am fond of. I had sent in my interest to model just as something for fun. I didn't really expect anything but lo' and behold, I got to join 9 other girls to be modeling for  SPANK! and Chubby Bunny. I'd like to say Tavuchi is really awesome and I'd really like to meet her again. Michelle (Chubby Bunny) is also great and I think she'll be really successful with all the hard work she's doing.

We started Saturday early at the WWA Gallery. I'm quite embarrassed cause I arrived 10 minutes late, and everyone else was already there (Sorry everyone!). They gave us our props and I was paired with Selina. All 5 pairs had different roles and we were set out to be "Bubble Girls". We got a little oriented on what to do and how the show was going to be.
Soon after, we got settled in and the makeup and hair began. Our hair stylists were Kaytea and Kazu Miyagi of Anarchy and there were 3 makeup artists, one of which was Mynxii

We pretty much hung around the gallery, ate snacks and talked the whole time until our turn came up. You can check out the short behind the scenes video I put up in a previous post here.

Trivia: The event was organized by SWEET STREETS. I think we fully lived up to the name-- the models were literally living off on a sugar the whole day. I kid you not. I barely ate anything except for candy, chips, gummy bears, and chocolate that whole day.

The photo on the left was a bunch of Hello Kitty candy Tavuchi gave us. This was early on in the day. When it started getting dark, that was all gone.

Our before shot:

After we had all gotten ready, we got to kill some more time and got to see & shop at the pop-up shop before anyone else. Check out Yume's shoes in the photo. I'm actually curious to try that out. DIY platform shoes ftw.

Here are all the models hanging out upstairs before the show. We couldn't go down, not until the fashion show started. I was getting edgy and I was craving for some beer they had downstairs. Luckily, Tavuchi came up and she gladly shared her beer to me and everyone else.

More after the jump!

SPANK! X Chubby Bunny Goodies

While I scour the Internet for more photos of the Sweet Streets event and have more time to write, I leave you with the goodies I got last Saturday from the SPANK! and Chubby Bunny event.

The model loot bag consisted of some postcards/flyers, pins, a  SPANK! bag and stockings, and  a Chubby Bunny bow. The detachable collar was something I got for myself.

Gorilla

Hello thar! It's a really lazy Sunday today. You can see the Chubby Bunny bow I got from the Street Sweets event yesterday in which I had participated in. I'm coming up with that post  pretty soon. For now, I leave you with some gif love:

It's actually a very special day for me today. That gorilla was a present from my monkey of a boyfriend. I dedicate this post to him. <3

Dinner Date

Last Saturday, I went out to have dinner & dessert with one of my best friends, partner in crime and food buddy. We eat like there's no tomorrow.

It was her birthday last week so I really wanted to somewhat celebrate it with her even though  our original plan of driving to San Diego for a food trip fell through (rain check on that!).

We went to have some ramen for dinner in one of the best places to get ramen-- Foo Foo Tei. Food photos can be seen on my food blog. Afterwards we had dessert at 85 °C bakery which I think is the asian version of Porto's. It was pretty much a party in my tummy the whole Saturday.

It was already getting dark when we took this but  I still wanted to get an outfit post.

Printed top ($7), Blue Heart skirt ($5) from Forever 21 during their BOGO sale so I reduced the price to the amount I actually got them for; Red orange blazer from New York & Company (~$10 which I got on sale 3 years back so I really don't remember how much I got it for )

Scarves and Scarves

Here are the scarves that I got from San Francisco.

3 infinity scarves costing roughly around $7 each and the little furry scarf with the bunny for around $6. I'm in love with scarves right now. I used to buy jackets&sweaters alot but maybe that shifted to buying scarves now.
I'm ready for the cold weather!

Bay Weekend

It was Maggie's (my roommate) uncle's birthday and he wanted to celebrate it in the Bay area. I do love San Francisco so I jumped in too. Me and Maggie took our own separate car and had started driving after work on Friday. Maggie took the first half and I took the other half. We drove all the way to San Jose and crashed at my friend place.

The next morning, we drove up to Chinatown to have lunch and we met up with the rest of the group in Berkeley. Maggie's uncle and his girlfriend gave us a little tour inside the UC Berkeley campus. There was a game that day in San Francisco so Berkeley was pretty dead. We found this amusing statue of one of the head coaches of the Bears who was blindfolded for the game.

On Sunday, we drove to San Francisco and walked around the city. Can you see Lombard Street in the photo? Since I scaled the image to a smaller size, you can't  really see it but it's there on the very end/top of that street.

We ended up in Chinatown again to do some shopping. You can't believe my happiness to find they sell different infinity scarves here. I've been looking for good cheap ones since last year. I just found my spot! I ended up buying 3 infinity scarves and 1 cute furry scarf, as well as some plates for our apartment.

We did the touristy thing and went to Fisherman's Wharf as well. Honestly I wanted to show Maggie around Haight and Castro but there really wasn't any time left since we had to drive back so that we could be back at work the next day.

Since we felt our trip was too short, we're thinking we might go back again soon. Until then San Francisco!

Modeling at a Gallery Opening

SPANK! and Chubby Bunny are doing a fashion show together at the Sweet Streets event in Culver City. I've been to a couple of Sweet Streets exhibitions and I love the artist they usually feature. They were looking for models so I thought, "Why not?". Their fashion style is my kind of style so I didn't think it would be hard to pull of for me. I submitted my entry and there it is: Model Search Winners. It's a little crazy for me cause I know I'm going to be so nervous on that day. However right now, I'm just savoring the idea that I worked on this myself and got chosen. I get to "model" for the first time in my life. So, for those out here in LA area on the 19th of November, come drop by Culver City for the Sweet Streets event!
I'm off to San Francisco tonight. Ta-ta for now!

My Sexy Halloween

I had such an interesting and fun Halloween weekend. I went to West Hollywood to Cinefamily's Disco Dracula at the Silent Movie Theatre. The theatre felt like a huge house party with booze and balloons all over. I met a couple of interesting people that night. To my surprise, I found out that one of people I met with wasn't kidding when he said he co-wrote the screenplay one of Michael Cera's films (I'd rather not disclose who it is) and acted in several films. Believe me, my jaw dropped the next day when I googled that person's name up.

For those who know me, I always fall under "CUTE" to the point I get tired of it sometimes. This Halloween, I decided to dress up as a sexy sailor. Emphasis on the sexy part. I thought I pulled it off pretty well, although I think the dress fit me better in person than on the photos.

On Halloween, I went to work as Minnie Mouse. I didn't think anyone would dress up because last year, no one didn't. The new people in our company did and they really went all out. I wish I had known! I safely dressed up in something I knew wouldn't look stupid if no one had dressed up. Luckily, we all got free lunch from the branch manager cause we were in costume.

Ja!
